Two organs. Two organists. All fun.

Bach to Broadway returns to Christ Episcopal Church on Saturday, September 26. Two organists, Nathan Avakian and James Fitzwilliam, take on two very different instruments: the church's classical pipe organ, and a theatre organ, the kind that once filled movie palaces with the sound of a full orchestra out of a single console. They play each in turn, then together, moving from Bach to Broadway across the evening. Singer Claire Avakian joins her brother Nathan for several numbers.

The two instruments were built for different worlds, one for the concert hall and the church, one for the theatre and the crowd, and hearing them side by side is the whole point. It's a bigger, livelier night than most people expect, and that's the reason people come back.

Bring someone who thinks they don't like organ music and change their minds!

Sunday, October 4, 2026 - 2:00 PM: West Point Cadet Chapel Organ Recital by Dr. Carol Williams – International Concert Organist.

Now based in England and holding dual U.S. citizenship, she was appointed Organist of Hull City Hall in 2026. She also holds the title San Diego Civic Organist Emerita, following her distinguished tenure as San Diego Civic Organist and Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society. Her career thus spans two internationally renowned civic concert organs on both sides of the Atlantic.

Sunday, November 8, 2026 - 2:00 PM: West Point Cadet Chapel Organ Recital by Tomeu Segui, organist and harpsichordist, specializing in early music.

Mr. Segui studied in Zaragoza (Spain), Milan (Italy), and Friborg (Switzerland), under the direction of José Luis González Uriol, and Mauricio Ghielmi Lorenzo Croci. He has given concerts in Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland ... and is the organist of the weekly concerts of the Jordi Bosch organ in Santanyí.

West Point Cadet Chapel Organ Recital by Jonghee Yoon. 

Jonghee Yoon is Organist and Music Associate at Bellevue Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Washington.  She has performed across North America, Europe, and Asia. In 2022 she became the first organist to win the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra’s Rising Stars Competition, performing as concerto soloist with the orchestra. The following year she was honored as one of The Diapason’s “20 Under 30”, recognizing emerging international leaders in organ, harpsichord, and sacred music.A devoted recitalist and ensemble musician, Jonghee’s versatility extends from early music to the Romantic and contemporary repertoire.
